- Rise of An Evil Empire: Part 1 (Now With Added Destruction!)
by sean faulk I stop and listen on the corner of a busy street
All I can hear is sad suits shuffling their feet
Wondering what could have been
If they hadn't been encased in this concrete den
I stop and listen to the birds singing
Only to have the occasion ruined by a cell phone ringing
Then a lonely man screaming into his portable device
Screaming 'cause he lost money in the stocks on the roll of a dice
I stop and look up at the sky so dark
Once full of birds is now so polluted and stark
The toxic air head to toe
It's not safe to live here, this I know
I stop and look at where a pond used to house many ducks
But now it is nothing more than a Starbucks
Concrete replaces what nature has created
Hopefully this senseless urbanization can be abated
I stop and wonder what went wrong along the way
Why are we destroying nature more and more each day
What can we do to stop this disturbing trend?
If we keep this up Mother Nature's life will surely end
