- Three Simple Words
   by Kelsey Faulk

A kiss could never say as much as three words could.
Three simple words make such a powerful phrase
that could scare away so many people.
Very few people are not afraid of this phrase,
and those few people are the ones who bring us together in times of need.

Those few who dare say the words to anyone who comes near to them
are strong, unique, brave, and unconquerable.

A smile could never say as much as three words could.
Three simple words make such a powerful phrase
that could join two people together for life.

If these three words can do so much,
Why we don’t hear them as often as we should?
Why is it a rare occasion when someone says these words,
which are full of passion and life, to another?

We should say these words everyday,
because nothing could say as much as this one powerful phrase could.
Don’t be afraid of it.
It’s completely natural and can make an immense difference.

        I love you.

(Editor's note: After posting a Commentary Too article with the same title and theme, my daughter showed me this poem that she had written. It's true, great minds do think alike.)
