If Barbara Bush had taken the pill.
Polar bears might still be found
Where oil derricks now abound.
The spotted owl has gone for good,
Along with every last redwood.
Turned into a different green,
Every forest picked so clean.
The forests have been plowed or paved,
Not a one left to be saved.
The ozone layer is now so thin
A cancer grows on all our skin.
What water's left is mixed with oil,
And we've lost the last of our topsoil.
The profits came before the earth,
His backers got their money's worth.
If we had just had sex education,
We could have saved our population.
The world might be livable still
If Barbara Bush had taken the pill
