Every fake sheds a tear

Some prophet will babble

You take to the high ground

Hungry and poor
Then the main gate in Heaven
Is an old screen door

Stands like before
The very heart of reason, the very core
Run clear
For years I've watched my life roll down the track
Dropping off innocense that will never come back
And I see the trees bend in the corner of my mind
The passing of fury into peace of mind
There's belief and there's trouble
Walking hand in hand
There's a priest and his double and a cloud 'cross the land
And there's nothing as subtle
As some invisible plan
That does what it wants by sleight of hand
Run clear
When you take what's given
You can't give it back
Memories will fade and the future will pass
And the wind will echo calling you again
With a wizened heart
You must begin again.......
And run clear
