- Say the Word I'm Thinking Of

I just sent out an email with "Three Simple Words", an article I posted on The Faulking Truth, and have already had a dozen responses either in the Guestbook or by email. Thank you to everyone, and keep spreading "the word". It's a nice feeling to actually go positive for a second, everyone deserves to know that they are loved. Okay, before I get all misty-eyed and make a fool of myself (yet again), here's a quick update. Just for the faulk of it, I'm going to post a little excerpt from each article and let our talented writers speak for themselves. Plus, that means less actual writing for me, and I've already written two things this weekend, plus helped Aranda pull off a great concert on Friday. Yo, I'm tired, dawg!
"And So This is Christmas" By Down The Middle:
Jesus, how did we ever get to this? Somehow, Christmas isn’t anything about Christ anymore...or even love and charity. It’s all about big screen TVs and diamond earrings. It’s about fifteen foot “Coke can” Santas and “Clark Griswold” light shows. It’s about finding a parking space and fighting your way through the crowd...and it’s damn sure about winning that new car! {I hope the police bring their homeland security gear. There could be trouble, with this mob.}
"They Laughed at Galileo, They Laughed at the Wright Brothers...(They Laughed at the Marx Brothers)" By Robin Buckallew:
If the skeptics are always right against the scientific mainstream, what then are we supposed to do when the ideas of the skeptics move into the mainstream? There will still be skeptics. Logically, we must then listen to the skeptics, even though they may be the folks who were the scientific mainstream a few years before that we weren't supposed to listen to. Uh, oh, I feel a headache coming on.
"The Year I Won the Lottery" By Mark Faulk:
Just like that, I knew that my fortunes had changed forever. "February 28th". I WAS THE WINNER! Or, in this case, I was the loser. You see, this was no ordinary lottery, and there would be no giant checks presented by Ed McMahon to the "lucky winner". This lottery was to pick the poor souls who could potentially be drafted to go to Vietnam, to fight in a war that we all knew by then was wrong. My birthday, February 28, was pick number 001.
"How to Talk to a Liberal (if you must)" By Sean Faulk:
After visiting your site I severely regret not stopping at one of 47 "neighborhood" Wal-Mart's in the 2 miles around my house and picking up that book by Ann Coulter, "How to Talk to a Liberal (if you must)". Because as farfetched as I thought this statement was (liberals, in Suburban Colorado? What's this?!) it turns out I am compelled to speak to one of your "kind". You tree hugging, anti-bush, nature loving, tofu/granola eating bastards.

There was a time that we gave and received gifts as a way to show how much we cared for and loved someone. It was a "token of our appreciation" for that person. Remember that quaint little phrase "It's the thought that counts"? There was a time when it was more than a veiled insult directed at the giver of a "cheap" gift. Then, the Guilt Merchants went to work.

Okay, I'm certain that there are a lot of you out there who thought to yourselves, "My behavior has not been erratic!" I'm seen your letters, I've read your emails, and I've spoken with a few of you in person. Trust me, your behavior HAS been erratic. You people are all over the map emotionally, and denying it only means that you are still mired in the first phase, which is called, appropriately enough: DENIAL.

There is a pack of wild dogs at the door. These dogs are there for a purpose. They want treats. In fact, they come with an entire wish list of treats that they want. And since these dogs have given massive amounts of money to ensconce the head of the pack in the White House, they expect to get their treats.
