- Finally! Another Faulking Update
   by Mark Faulk

Hello, everyone, remember me? I'm the guy who is supposed to send you an update every week or so to tell you what's up at the Faulking Truth. It's been three weeks since the last update? Well, soooorrrry, I've been busy trying to save the (not so free) free world. Excuse me for not sending everyone an engraved invitation to our site. So, here it is: come by and visit us any time. We're posting new stuff all the time, and our guestbook has taken on a bizarre life of it's own. (Truthfully, I'm not sure what the faulk is going on there, but it's a lot of fun). And, we had more hits last month than we ever have, so we're doing something right (or wrong, depending on your point of view).

Okay, I'm done. Here's the latest scoop: I'll start with the articles that have already passed on into the pages of history. There are too many to provide a link to every one, so go to our archives ( http://www.faulkingtruth.com/Archives.cgi ), and look for them there. It's worth the minimal amount of effort it will take you.

First, read "Nothing is Certain but Death" by Robin Buckallew. It's actually a short story, in keeping with our policy of being the most creative website in cyberspace. Robin also penned "I want my GNP", an article exploring how our economy affects our ecology. Politicians come and go, but we only get one shot at saving our planet.

Next, read guest writer Linda C. Wilson's piece "Inside Bush’s Brain: 'Hellooooo, Karl!'", which tells how the Republicans used "Guns, Gays, and God" to win the election.

Now, take a soft left to read "Scott Peterson Attacks Fallujah" by Down The Middle, the title alone cracks me up, and the article is even better. Down The Middle also contributes "It Can't Happen Here", a beautiful piece written on the 41st anniversary of JFK's assassination.

Then, go straight to "The Draft will Start in June 2005", it's a reprint of an article from Strait Gate Ministries, and a cautionary piece we need to know about. And finally, read "Young Conservatives", in our words section, a piece written in 1983 by Ray Davies, and unfortunately, even more timely now.

Now, on to the "new" stuff. I'll keep this short, I know I'm giving you guys a lot of homework. (By the way, there will be a test on this later.) I'll begin with two articles just posted, both dealing with the Presidential election. What started out as a purported vote fraud story ended up just being a story about incompetency at the Tulsa World newspaper. The first article is called "Tulsa World on Oklahoma Vote Totals: We Have no Idea", and the second one is aptly entitled "Without Feathers". By the way, I sent that one to the Executive Editor of the Tulsa World, so we won't be getting any more interviews with them. What the heck, it was worth it.

In "Natural Born Liberal", Down The Middle finally comes out of the closet to admit that he leans left. Duh, like we didn't already know that. You might find a few of your own values in there, though. We have another article waiting in the wings from him, so read it now.

I continue my updates, or, as another website put it, my "loopy claims of a Dateline expose' that never seems to happen", in "Dateline: The Waiting is the Hardest Part". We'll see who's right in the end on this issue (hint: it's me).

Robin Buckallew contributes "It's the Environment, Stupid", where she tries to make sense of the fact that we rate environmental issues at the bottom of the list of our priorities. Stop doing that! This is important stuff.

Our words selection is "Ozymandias", about a king who destroys his entire kingdom, and is left to rule over nothing. Sound familiar? (Think George W. Bush.)

And then there's Blogfest 2005. I've posted five new entries since the last update, and every one of them took me at least an hour to write, so the least you can do is speed read through them while you're drinking your morning latte. (that's "coffee" for us Okies). I've added a Blogfest column so I can post my favorites on the homepage, the latest one is entitled "Home on the Range", and it's about dead animals. Really, it is. Makes you want to go there now, doesn't it? To quote Nike, "Just Faulking do it".

Wait! Don't leave yet.....I almost forgot, if you're a fellow Okie, you have to go see the Aranda CD release concert on December 17, or buy the CD if you're not a local. I promise you that these guys won't disappoint. Have I ever lied to you? Go to http://www.ArandaMusic.com/ to check it out. Okay, now you can leave. (Really, just go, I'm all done here.)
